I am counting down the days until I return to work and life gets back to what has always been normal for me! I drove the route to work this morning and yes-the traffic sucks and is quite bad in areas, but I guess you have to take the good with the bad! The girls woke up about an hour earlier than normal today and it was evident to me that Maci was feeling the effects of that. She was literally sleeping at the table eating her lunch. Hopefully this will be better for everyone - getting into routines and stuff.
I am having my first Women Who Wine party tomorrow night and I am excited. There will probably be 5-6 people here which is just fine for the first time. I met one of the girls the other day and she is very sweet and a great write! I love to read her blog! I will post how that all worked out once it' over - it's a big step for me since I am usually so shy.

News!
Well it seems as though everything is falling into place. I was offered a job yesterday and accepted at a large insurance firm in the legal department. The pay was not exactly what I wanted, but it's a great company in a great location and the people seemed really nice. Money isn't everything when you are happy at work, I have learned that first hand!!
Madelyn started gymnastics yesterday. She seemed to like it although she didn't like getting in trouble for not following directions. She is going to have to learn to be a little less emotional about things or she is really in for a rough ride. As soon as they wake up from their naps we are going to check out a possible daycare for them. It's freezing outside! Right now, at 3 in the afternoon it's 34 degrees!!
Yikes, I am not used to cold like this!!

2 more days!
2 more days and Maci's cast comes off. I hope her leg is healed, it's driving me crazy! She has managed to learn how to walk on it - looking like a peg-leg pirate - but it's the loss of routine that is bothering me. I used to give her and Mad a bath and then put them to bed, but now I can't give Mad a bath while Maci is awake because the poor baby wants to get in too. It's so sad.
I am still searching for a job - still nothing promising. We will be filing our taxes soon so I know we will be okay for a little while longer. I am even thinking that if I don't find something soon that I may try to get a summer job babysitting for school-aged children. I only need to watch 2 to be able to make money. Now I am regretting getting rid of my Explorer - especially since it had the third row of seats. Oh well - I have NO plans on trading in my car now. I love the gas mileage-especially since I really don't go anywhere!
I am off to wrap Maci's leg so she can get a bath...

Oh, the shame!!!
I cannot believe it's been almost a month since I have updated this. We had a great holiday with all the visitors and then our quick trip to Jacksonville. Maci broke her foot the day after Christmas but is doing fine with the cast. She learned how to walk and looks like a peg-leg pirate. I know that sounds mean, but really-that is what she looks like! Madelyn has been doing great too - she is starting to learn the sounds that letters make. I need to find some activities that are more geared towards that - my goal has always been to have her reading at 4 and I still plan on trying to reach that goal. Really I have no excuse since I am not working.
We have birthdays and anniversaries coming up! JD will be the big 3-0 on Valentine's day and our 5 year anniversary is on March 15. I can't believe it's been almost 5 years!! I am amazed at how much we grow as friends and as husband and wife still. I think marraige is a great thing and lucky me I found the perfect person!
JD and I are also trying to eat better. No red meat and I am trying to keep my calorie intake to about 1600 a day. Less is better, but I don't want to go over that. We shall see what happens. I plan on going back to the gym next week too. Ugh, wish us luck!!
Time for Maci's nap, and our town is under a tornado warning - gotta go!!
