Bah Humbug!

Christmas is one week from today and I am in the least Christmas-y mood possible. Maci is sick and I still have to wrap quite a few gifts. I have to clean the house and go grocery shopping. I need a babysitter or a maid.

Still no news on the job front. I have been on countless interviews, but have nothing promising in the basket. It seems that nobody wants to pay me the big bucks, and hey- we all know I am worth it!

I didn't get any pictures from this weekend's visit, but Tania did, so as soon as I can get them from her I will post them. Off to clean now. Ciao!

Woot!!!

Did you know that the word woot is going to be added to the dictionary as an interjection? You know, it means something similar to the word YAY. So...WOOT - Tania, Julie, Ashtin and Allissa are coming to visit this weekend!!! It's always so nice to have visitors from home.

Kids really do say the darndest things. Last night we chatted with Tiffany via the webcam and Madelyn asked where Justin was. I told her that he is out sailing on the boat. This morning she told me Justin was in the ceiling and she proceeded to look up as if he was going to appear. Too funny.

The nature trail

We took a walk on the nature trail in our neighborhood this weekend and took some pictures. It's such a beautiful walk - this time our guide -aka- JD took us on a different route where we pretty much had to walk a vertical hill. It was tough, but worth the exercise!

Hope you enjoyed the pics! TGIF!! This has really been quite a hectic week. I have been cleaning for the past 2 days and am welcoming the time off. Maci got her second flu shot today - I tell you that kid is a tough as nails. She cried for a mili-second. Then we went to Publix and of course I spent a college tuition amount in food. I don't know why I spend so much more there than I did at other stores. It's a conspiracy I tell you - they have to pay for all those coloring books and crayons that you get free.

The middle of the week of a busy month!

Yesterday was just a bad day all around - until JD got home. For some reason it's becoming quite the difficult task to find a job up here in Alabama. I think it's because I need to make a certain amount for it to even be worth it, and jobs around here just aren't paying that much - at least not to start off with. I am going to stop getting so let down by the idea of not working and just try to take things one day at a time. That is the best I can do. JD is so great - he bought me a nice present after I told him I was having a bad day - I am so lucky to have such a great husband. I can't believe that in 3 months we will be celebrating our 5 year wedding anniversary. Crazy!!

This is going to be a busy month for us. Every weekend from now until the new year we have guests coming in - YAY!!! I am so excited to see everyone and I know the girls will be too. We are going to the gym today and then we have to work on the usual - laundry and housework. Geeze, we lead such busy lives, I know.

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas!

Christmas is just around the corner and all around our neighborhood people are hanging their lights. We went cheap this year so we only have lights on the walkway to our door and a few decorative lighted trees in the yard. It looks nice though.

I can't believe we are 100% finished Christmas shopping. It feels great! I am sure we may have missed out on some killer deals, but knowing that we are all done is well worth the few extra dollars we spent to finish early.

I so excited that everyone is web-camming now! Madelyn and Maci love watching everyone on the webcam, and it's nice that they can see the family in real time. Madelyn is funny though - we were chatting with Ashtin the other day and our dog was standing behind the computer and Madelyn told Ashtin that our dog Jayden was behind her. Out with Myspace

After a lot of soul searching I have come to the conclusion that it's time to say goodbye to Myspace and move on to blogging. Time to grow up and get on with life. I am going to try to keep this updated with pictures and the goings-on in our lives. Wish me luck.

Right now Maci is in bed with a small fever. I am not sure if she is getting strep throat or it's just her teeth. She was hanging all over me and being very snuggly, so I knew someting was up - took her temperature and for sure it was 100.4. I gave her some Motrin and she went right to sleep. I hope she feels better, I hate for her to be sick.

Madelyn is having her own little issues right now. She has NO bedtime routine, which I am sure is mostly my fault. I keep saying I am going to create one, but I never do. Bah humbug to that, it's such an inconvenience to fight with her at night. I know that sounds like a terrible parent, but it's true. After struggling with her all day, the night feels like it should be my time.
